Samantabhadra’s Aspiration Prayers, continuation of the course in May 2023

April 19 , 20:00 - April 21 , 12:00

MEDITATION

Explanations – common practice – exchange

The aspiration prayers of Samantabhadra – also called Ways of Aspiring to the Accomplished Work of the Noble Ones – are said to cover all aspects of bodhisattva practice. They are an excerpt from the extensive Avatamsaka Sutra. The Gyalwa Karmapa referred to these aspiration prayers, as well as some of the Buddha’s other sutras such as the Heart Sutra, as the ” fathomless wisdom methods of the Buddhas”. In 2023, we started discussing and practising these wish prayers of Samantabhadra. However, we were only able to go through about half of the verses. This seminar is therefore a continuation of the first one. At the beginning there will be an introduction to this facet of our Bodhisattva practice as well as a review of the first 24 verses. The seminar is therefore suitable for ‘newcomers’ as well as those who were at the May 2023 seminar.
