We are very happy that Lama Jampa will be back in Dhagpo Möhra and will give us explanations about the Lodjong training this year.
Lodjong training helps us to make friends with all aspects that we find difficult in ourselves and others. At the same time, we learn to loosen our attachment to the pleasant and to share generously. We develop a sense of the need to leave our experience – be it painful or pleasant – as it is. This awakens bodhicitta – the open warm heart, the awakened mind – within us.
The training is based on meditation of calmness of the mind, Tonglen meditation as a practice of exchanging with others, and contemplation of the 59 Phrases of Mind Training.
Shenyen Lama Jampa is Tibetan and originally comes from Yangpachen, the seat of the Shamarpas in Tibet, where he completed a traditional three-year retreat in 1994. He has been living and teaching in the USA for many years now, with headquarters at the Bodhi Path Center in Menlo Park. Lama Jampa is very touching with his kind and loving attitude, which is deeply rooted in Dharma and is a great inspiration to everyone.
