with Acharya Ngawang Tharchin and Acharya Gonpo Tashi.

As previously announced, we are fulfilling Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje’s wish to establish a study program in Möhra, which will be led for three years by Acharyas Ngawang Tharchin and Gonpo Tashi. Thus, there will be an “Acharya in Residence” in Möhra. Acharya Ngawang Tharchin will begin the program in mid-April 2026. He and Acharya Gonpo Tashi will share the leadership of the study program.

The following structure is planned: on three afternoons per week, Acharya Ngawang Tharchin will initially teach both the Möhra Sangha and retreat guests. Participants in the new “Study and Work” program can also attend (detailed information will be provided in the next newsletter).
Gyalwa Karmapa has proposed the following topics for the study program: Gampopa “The Jeweled Ornament of Liberation” and Mipham Rinpoche “The Gateway to Liberation”.

To allow practitioners who are not physically present to participate in the program, online classes will be offered two evenings a week. Starting April 26, 2026, online classes will be held every Sunday and Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The online classes will cover the same content as the in-person classes, ensuring that both courses remain at roughly the same level.

The study program is initially planned for three years and offers a unique opportunity to become acquainted with and deepen one’s understanding of fundamental works of Tibetan Buddhism in this format within the German-speaking world. Book recommendations will be provided to support the content and study. This offering will be further enhanced by the provision of transcripts that we intend to prepare.

Language of instruction: English.

We will send more detailed information about the program, registration, and costs in the next newsletter. We hope many of you can participate.
Please send any questions about the study program to info@dhagpo-moehra.org. We will try to answer your questions in the next newsletter.
